Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) is delighted to announce three new significant appointments within its Middle East management team, and specifically within its UAE operations: seasoned communications professional of nearly 20 years’ experience, Stuart Macaulay, joins the consultancy as General Manager Abu Dhabi; Lucy Harvey, the former General Manager of Dubai, becomes a Regional Director; and Lisa Welsh has been promoted to the role of General Manager of the consultancy’s award-winning and rapidly expanding Dubai office.
Stuart Macaulay brings a wealth of communications experience across a variety of sectors and markets to H+K’s Abu Dhabi office. He previously ran the Qatar office of Weber Shandwick and before that was Head of EMEA PR for the London-based PR firm Cognito. Overseeing integrated communication programmes in the Middle East, UK, US, Canada and Africa, his previous roles have seen him manage offices and client teams, undertake strategic planning, media relations, crisis communications, profile raising and B2B communications, branding and messaging projects and government communications.
Prior to Cognito, Stuart worked for the financial PR agency Kreab Gavin Anderson in London, where he advised on M&A deals, investor and analyst relations, financial calendar PR, corporate profile raising and issues management tasks as well as carrying out in-house roles with both NASDAQOMX and the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense. H+K has had a fully-fledged team in Abu Dhabi since 2007, and Stuart’s role as General Manger will now see him responsible for the management of the team, and servicing of the consultancy’s key Abu Dhabi-based clients.
Due to join later this month, Stuart commented:

Lucy Harvey joined the H+K Middle East team in early 2010, quickly rising up the ranks to take on the role of General Manager Abu Dhabi and then General Manager Dubai as well as leading the region’s Marketing Communications Practice. Her promotion to Regional Director is a natural next step and will now see her support operations, strategy and key client relationships across the wider Middle East region, and particularly in the UAE and Egypt. She will work across all eight of H+K’s offices in the Middle East and within the wider H+K EMEA network.
Lisa Welsh joined H+K in 2011 with a wealth of rich and varied integrated communications experience from roles in-house and with other international communications firms, and now takes on the role of General Manager Dubai having served as the office’s Deputy General Manager since October 2013. Lisa also leads the consultancy’s growing Health+Wellness practice across the Middle East and Africa with enormous success, seeing the practice triple in size over the past three years. Her work in the pharmaceutical sector has seen her advise many leading regional and global brands, ranging from regulatory issues management to market entry and influencer engagement.Back to News
